Technology at Fluency

Adding a T to LSP

Fluency is a technical language service provider.
We develop the technology we use to help provide language services more quickly, more cost-effectively
and with better quality assurances.

In-house development

This website, project management, file management and quoting are all handled in-house, and we develop our own software too.

Fluency relies less on third-party software and spends less on investing in SaaS services which helps us to improve our workflows.

Ahead of the curve

The needs of businesses in a globalised, tech-driven, fast-paced world have changed a lot. Regardless of size, every company requires translations that can be delivered efficiently.

Fluency embraces changes, such as machine translation, becoming the norm. We believe our services work best when we can provide the highest quality possible.

Better word counts

By leveraging Regex, CAT tools, and Fluency's translation memories, Fluency can be competitive in price.

Quicker turnarounds

Fluency automates many standard functions, which allows time to be spent on your content.

Better MT

Fluency continues to put in research and development into machine translation, giving more options to companies.

Better content handling

Fluency has the tools to parse your content correctly, making for cost-effective language services.

Time and cost-efficiency

Using the latest technology, Fluency can reduce costs associated with your translations and speed up the time between receiving requests and delivery. We can also ensure we handle complex and large translations with the same care and attention as small ones.

Filtering

Fluency uses a mixture of Regular Expression, translation memories, automation and a manual check.

We ensure that whether you've sent us a data-exchange format such as JSON or a Word document, you always get the most cost-effective translation.

We also undertake multilevel parsing so that when your document has multiple types of content, we can ensure we are not charging for things such as attributes.

  • JSON
  • XML
  • Doc 1
  • Doc 2

Handlebars and variables are not counted towards the word count.

Repeating content that will always remain the same is filtered out as well as brand names.

Other embedded formats such as JSON and HTML are parsed correctly are not counted towards the word count.

Translation Memories

Fluency uses translation memories to help reduce your word count. We have gigabytes of pre-translated words, covering many different subject areas, languages, and dialects.

Translation memories reduce your word count through pre-translation using our automated setup. We also create a memory for all of our clients and a glossary so that we can ensure consistency in all your translations.

We only use translation memories and pre-translated words if our linguists are happy. We never use words that would not fit the text you have provided.

Machine Learning and AI

Fluency uses advanced machine learning models to help produce results quicker.

We use a vast array of neural machine translation models and processes, developed both in-house and by third parties. We have created a powerful ranking system to produce the most effective machine-translation output.

We also use AI to help us with DTP projects and non-editable files.

Your business is no one else's business, and we keep it that way.

Fluency is committed to ensuring your business only takes place between you, us and the linguists working on your content.

Password policies

Fluency has strict password requirements and 2FA is turned on for all services we use.

MD5 hashes

Fluency sends MD5 hashes with every deliverable, so you know you're receiving what you expect.

GDPR for all

Fluency accepts GDPR requests from anyone outside of the UK, EU or EEA.

TLS

All data transferred between us, you and our linguists are always protected with TLS. We even use IMAP SSL.

Quality, assured
Fluency has quality assurance processes from ISO 17100:2015 to encoding checks. Standard with every project.
